How can I purchase Sharon Summer Beach Passes?
 
Sharon summer beach passes may only be purchased online at https://sharonbeach.cityhallsystems.com. At this web site you may purchase Memorial Park Beach car and walk-in passes for residents, Community Center Beach summer passes for nonresidents, or boat ramp passes for residents and nonresidents. You can pay for your beach passes with a VISA, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express credit or debit card.
What is the process to get the Summer Passes?
 
Once you have completed and submitted the beach pass application, you will receive an email notification of your order. Upon verification of your information, you will receive an email that your order has been successfully processed and mailed. Usually, passes will be mailed within a week of receipt of your application. If there are any questions regarding your information, we will contact you.
Who should I contact if I have a question or issue?
 
Please call City Hall Systems at (508) 381-5456 if you have any questions regarding ordering summer beach passes, or if you need a replacement pass. Any questions regarding use of the Sharon beaches should be directed to Sharon Recreation Department at (781) 784-1530.
Can I use the Sharon Beaches if I do not have a Summer Pass?
 
Yes, residents can purchase daily beach passes to the Community Center Beach upon entering that beach. Daily beach passes are $8 for Community Center Beach, and $4 for Memorial Beach.
Do I need a Boat ramp Pass to use the Boat Ramp?
 
Yes, all boats that use the boat ramp are required to have a boat ramp pass. All motorized or trailered boats must be launched from Lake Massapoag town ramp at the corner of Beach and Pond Streets. Only those vehicles with a boat ramp pass will be allowed to park at the boat ramp parking lot. Non-motorized, non-trailered boats may be launched from the designated areas of the Beach Boat Launch Areas.
Can I launch a boat in Lake Massapoag without a Boat Ramp Pass?
 
Yes, any non-motorized, non-trailered boat can be launched in the lake from the designated Beach Boat Launch Areas. The boat must be transported to the beach by a car with a valid Car Beach Pass to that particular beach.
Is every boat launched into Lake Massapoag required to inspect for Invasive Species?
 
Yes, all boat owners launching boats into the lake are required to read and understand the DCR Massachusetts Lakes and Ponds Program Flyer concerning invasive species. Boat owners are required to properly inspect their vessel upon entrance to and exit from the lake. Failure to adhere to these regulations may result in the suspension or revocation of your ability to use your boat in Lake Massapoag.
Why do you need my driver's license number when applying?
 
In order to verify your status as a resident, senior or handicapped person, we need to use your driver's license to check our databases. We will never divulge or provide your personal information, including your driver's license number, to any third party except as may be required by law.
Do I qualify for Senior Status?
 
If you are a resident of Sharon and are 62 years of age or older, you qualify for the senior discounted pricing applicable to certain listed items. We require that you provide us with your driver's license number so we can verify your age. Please note that only seniors may use a senior walk-in pass. You will be required to show your driver's license when you are entering the beach using a senior walk-in pass.
Do I qualify for Handicap Status?
 
If you have been issued a handicap placard by the State of Massachusetts, you qualify for the handicap discounted pricing applicable to certain listed items. We require that you provide us with your driver's license number so we can verify your status.
Who can use Memorial Park Beach?
 
Memorial Park Beach is limited to Town of Sharon residents. Sharon residents who have purchased a car pass and a walk-in pass may enter the beach upon presentment of the purchased pass. Memorial Park Beach is not open to nonresidents of Sharon. If you do not have your pass, you will not be allowed to enter the beach or parking lot area.
What Is a Memorial Park Beach Car Pass?
 
The car pass will contain your permit number and the license plate number of your car that will be allowed to use the pass. Car passes are required for anyone wishing to park at the beach. Car passes are to be shown to the gate guard upon arrival and hung on the rear view mirror when parked.
What is a Memorial Park Beach Walk-In Pass?
 
The walk-in pass is a key chain tag that is bar coded with a unique number for each one purchased. There are 3 different walk-in passes; one for youths (ages 5-17), one for adults (ages 18-61), and one for seniors (ages 62+) or handicapped. Walk-in passes are required for anyone over 4 years of age wishing to walk or bicycle into the beach. Walk-in passes are to be shown to the gate guard upon arrival. Senior walk-in passes may only be used by qualifying senior residents (62+). Seniors will be required to provide a driver's license or other proof of senior status when using a senior walk-in pass.
When Is the Memorial Park Beach Open?
 
Memorial Park Beach is open and staffed weekends starting Memorial Day Weekend, May 26, 2018 with beach hours from 10:00AM to 6:00PM. The beach will be open and staffed on weekdays starting June 22, 2018 through August 19, 2018 with beach hours from 10:30AM through 6:00PM. Gates will be shut and locked upon closing, and there will be no restroom facilities and no lifeguards on duty.
Who can use Community Center Beach?
 
Community Center Beach is open to Sharon residents and nonresidents. Daily passes are available for sale at the entrance to the beach. Daily beach passes at Community Center Beach are $8 for individuals and $30 for a car pass. Nonresidents who have purchased a summer beach pass may enter the beach upon presentment of the purchased pass to the lifeguard. Residents with a Memorial Park Beach car or walk-in pass may enter the beach upon presentment of the purchased pass to the lifeguard.
What Is a Nonresident Community Center Summer Beach Pass?
 
The nonresident Community Center summer beach pass will contain your permit number and the license plate numbers of your car that will be allowed to use the pass. Summer beach passes are to be shown to the lifeguard upon entrance to the beach.
When is the Community Center Beach Open?
 
Community Center Beach is open and staffed seven days a week once the Sharon Schools are out for the summer. The beach will be open and staffed through mid-August depending on availability of lifeguards. The beach hours are 12:00PM through 7:00PM. The beach closes promptly at 7:00PM, and gates will be shut and locked.
What are the Sharon Rules for Town Beaches?
 
The Sharon Rules for Town Beaches include the following rules for Memorial Park and Community Center Beaches:
  • No animals are allowed at the beach
  • No alcohol is allowed at the beach
  • No smoking is allowed at the beach
  • No fishing is allowed at the beach
  • The use of tubes, rafts, or other floating support devices are prohibited
  • Proper bathing attire is required
  • All children who still wear diapers must wear the appropriate 'swim diapers'

Who can use the Sharon Boat Ramp?
 
All motorized or trailered boats must be launched from Lake Massapoag town ramp at the corner of Beach and Pond Streets. The Sharon Boat Ramp is open to Sharon residents and nonresidents. Anyone wanting to launch a boat from the Sharon Boat Ramp must purchase a boat ramp pass. The boat ramp passes are issued in pairs, one sticker to be placed on the boat and one to be placed on the rear windshield of the towing vehicle. A 60-horsepower limitation for motorboats on Lake Massapoag is in effect. Only vehicles with a boat ramp pass visible on their rear windshield will be allowed to park in the boat ramp parking lot.
When is the Sharon Boat Ramp Open?
 
The Sharon Boat Ramp is open year round. Boat ramp passes are valid for the calendar year. A boat ramp pass is required to park at the boat ramp and to launch your boat from the boat ramp into Lake Massapoag. The boat ramp parking area is monitored by the Sharon Police Department.
What are the Sharon Boating Regulations?
 
The Sharon Boating Regulations include the following:
  • A boat ramp pass is required to use the Sharon boat ramp
  • A car beach pass is required to launch a boat from the town beaches
  • All boat owners are required to read and understand the DCR Massachusetts Lakes and Ponds Program Flyer
  • Boat owners are required to properly inspect their vessel upon entrance to and exit from Lake Massapoag
  • All motorboats must be 60 horsepower or less
  • Personal floatation devices are required to be worn

What do I do if I lose my Pass?
 
If you lose a pass, please call City Hall Systems at (508) 381-5456 for assistance. There is a charge of $15 per replacement pass issued.
