Sharon Beach/Boat/Student Passes
Below is the online application for Sharon Summer 2017 Beach Passes. Passes may be purchased online by filling out and submitting this online application on or after April 1, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Please first answer whether you are a Sharon resident or non-resident. Please be sure to provide all required information with the application. Once you have successfully submitted your application, you will receive an email notification of your order. Upon verification of your information, you will receive an email that your order has been successfully processed. *****NOTE CONCERNING END OF SUMMER BEACH HOURS*****As another summer comes to an end, Veteran's Memorial Park Beach will be operating on an abbreviated schedule and with minimal staff through August 18th. Please read the Summer End Notice for the important dates and hours. Passes will continue to be monitored, and the concession stand will remain open through the end of the season on August 18, 2017 at Memorial Beach. For the remainder of the season there will be no lifeguard coverage at the Community Center Beach.
*****NEW BEACH PASS RULES*****New this year, each visitor to the Memorial Park Beach and the Community Center Beach will be required to purchase an individual Walk In pass. Walk In passes are required for Youth (age 5-17), Adults (age 18-61), and Reduced (age 62+ and/or handicap). If you wish to utilize the beach parking lot, then you will also need to purchase a Parking Pass covering your vehicle. Please note that only one card registration may be listed on each Parking Placard. Also, new this year Sharon residents may purchase 1 day passes to Memorial Park Beach.
*****ONE DAY BOAT RAMP PASSES*****One Day Boat Ramp passes can be purchased online for $10 each. When purchasing your one day boat ramp pass, select the date for which your pass will apply. All one day boat ramp passes are final: the date cannot be changed; and no refunds will be issued. One Day Boat Ramp passes purchased online must be purchased at least two business days in advance. Once you have successfully submitted your application, you will receive an email notification of your order. Upon verification of your information, you will receive an email that will contain your receipt pass. Please retain this receipt to show to the gate guard.
Starting June 27th through August 28th, one day boat ramp passes may also be purchased at the boat ramp when an attendant is on duty (10:00 AM - 8:00 PM, seven days a week). In order to purchase a pass at the boat ramp, you will need a credit card and a copy of your boat registration. Passes purchased at the boat ramp are valid for that day only.
*****NOTE CONCERNING BOATING AND BOAT RAMP PERMIT RULES*****Boat Ramp Permits (allowing use of the Town Boat Ramp to launch a boat and parking in the Boat Ramp Lot) are required for all boats with motors or boats that are trailered to the beach. Boat Ramp Permits will be issued in pairs, one sticker to be placed on the boat and one sticker to be placed on the vehicle. Non-motorized, non-trailered boats that are transported to the beach by car do not require a Boat Ramp Permit. All cars transporting non-motorized, non-trailered boats to the beach must have a Car Beach Pass in order to launch a boat. Non-motorized, non-trailered boats may be launched in the Beach Boat Launch Areas at Memorial Park Beach and Community Center Beach. All boat owners launching boats into Lake Massapoag are required to read and understand the DCR Massachusetts Lakes and Ponds Program Flyer concerning invasive species. Boat owners are required to properly inspect their vessel upon entrance to and exit from Lake Massapoag. Failure to adhere to these requirements may result in the suspension or revocation of your ability to use your boat in Lake Massapoag.
REMINDER: In accordance with Massachusett Boating Law 323 CMR 2.07: Operation, Section (1) Distance, (c) Motorboats shall not be operated: (2) within 75 feet of the seaward boundary of a public or private swimming beach, if designated by markers, floats or otherwise.
*****KAYAK RACK PERMIT SOLD OUT FOR 2017*****New for 2017, Sharon will be offering storage for kayaks, paddle boards, and canoes. The Permit Fee is $75.00 for the 2017 season (Memorial Day through Columbus Day). Payment of permit fee is online. There will be permits available for 36 personal watercraft devices for the 2017 season. You will be assigned a specific location on the kayak rack to store your boat after payment is received. You will be assigned a location on the Veteran's Memorial Beach Kayak rack. Your location is assigned and only one personal watercraft device is allowed per slot. Your sticker must be adhered to your kayak on the front of the boat where it can be seen when your boat is on the kayak rack. Kayaks left after Columbus Day will become property of the Sharon Recreation Department. Kayaks illegally stored are subject to impounding and a fine. The Town of Sharon is not responsible for any vandalism, theft or personal injury by/of kayaks. If you lose your sticker then you must contact the Sharon Recreation Department to obtain a new one. You may not place your kayak on the storage racks without an active permit on it. Kayak permits are issued to Sharon residents only. Kayak rack spaces can only be used by the person the permit was issued to. Anyone found violating this policy will lose their kayak rack space permanently.
Memorial Park Beach Resident Car and Walk In Passes: Memorial Park Beach is for use by residents only. Resident car passes are required for anyone wishing to park at the beach. Resident walk in passes are required for anyone over 4 years of age wishing to walk or bicycle into the beach. Youth passes are for ages 5-17. Adult passes are for ages 18-61. Reduced passes are for ages 62+ & handicap. A driver's license number is required for proof of residency, senior or handicap status when applying. Seniors will be required to provide a driver's license or other proof of senior status when using a senior walk in pass. Vehicle license plate numbers are necessary when applying for each car pass purchased. Car and walk in passes MUST be shown to the gate guard upon arrival, and car passes must be hung on the rear view mirror when parked. Daily passes are available for purchase at the entrance to the beach. The cost of daily passes is $4 for youths (age 5-17), $5 for adults (age 18-61), and $3 for seniors (age 62+) or handicapped. The Summer 2017 Memorial Park Beach passes are valid from 5/27/2017 - 8/18/2017. Please note that car passes do not include walk in passes.
Community Center Beach Non-Resident Beach Passes: Community Center Beach is for use by non-residents (and residents). Daily passes are available for purchase at the entrance to the beach. You may walk or drive in, cost is $12 per youth (age 5-17), $15 per adult (age 18-61), and $9 for seniors (age 62+) or handicapped. Residents with a Memorial Beach car or walk in pass are permitted to use Community Center Beach. The Summer 2017 Community Center Beach passes are valid from 6/18/2017 - 8/18/2017.
Boat Ramp Passes: Residents and non-residents are required to have passes for all boats with motors or boats that are trailered to the beach in order to launch from and park at the town boat ramp. Seasonal or daily passes may be purchased. All motorized or trailered boats must be launched from Lake Massapoag town ramp at the corner of Beach and Pond Streets. Motorboat registration information is required at the time of purchase and a 60-horsepower limitation for motorboats on Lake Massapoag is in effect. Only cars with a boat ramp pass will be allowed to park in the parking area at the boat ramp. The boat ramp passes are valid for the calendar year. Non-motorized, non-trailered boats transported by a car with a car beach pass may be launched directly from the town beaches (Memorial Park and Community Center) without a boat ramp pass.
Student Parking Passes: Students may park in the Memorial Park Beach parking lot with a student parking pass. A driver's license number is required for proof of residency. Vehicle license plate numbers are necessary when applying for each car pass purchased. Student Parking passes are valid from the date purchased until the end of the school year.
